Aldiouma Sow, a prominent minister-counselor to the President of the Republic and coordinator for politics, civil society, and unions within the Presidential Cabinet, recently voiced strong criticisms against Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko during an appearance on TFM’s “Infos Matin” program.
Addressing a journalist’s inquiry regarding the persistent critiques leveled at the Prime Minister, Sow delineated two distinct phases in the history of the Pastef party. He explained, “Initially, the reproaches directed at Ousmane Sonko originated from the opposition. At that juncture, we believed these were merely tactics in the political struggle against him. However, upon assuming power, it became evident that these criticisms held merit. Ousmane Sonko has betrayed us. He concealed his genuine character from us,” Sow asserted with conviction.
When questioned about the dismissal of Fifi Diakhaté from MONCAP, Aldiouma Sow characterized the individuals involved as those who, throughout their political careers, have consistently demonstrated a disregard for established norms and organizational structures. He further elaborated, stating, “Presently, the party’s leadership is effectively held captive by a messianic faction comprising just two or three individuals, who operate the party in a manner detrimental to its core interests.”
