Gabon’s business community officially embarks on a fresh chapter. Following his election on June 12 as president of the Federation of Gabonese Enterprises (FEG), Alain-Claude Kouakoua formally inaugurated his Executive Bureau this Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Libreville. This revitalized team is now at the helm for the 2026-2029 term, armed with a clear mandate to modernize the national economy.

To effectively pursue these ambitious goals, the new president has assembled a cadre of seasoned professionals. The executive bureau will notably benefit from the strategic insights of two high-caliber advisors, Charles Tchen and Seydou Kane.

Working alongside them, thirteen vice-presidents have been appointed to oversee vital sectors of the Gabonese economy. Noteworthy appointments include Léod Paul Batolo, who now leads the Mining Industry, and Christophe Blanc, tasked with steering the critical oil and gas sector. Isabelle Essonghé assumes responsibility for commerce and services, while Éric Boundono is charged with driving entrepreneurship, innovation, and the digital economy. From healthcare to taxation, and extending to timber and logistics, every segment of activity now possesses a dedicated anchor to address competitiveness challenges and foster growth within Gabon.

Competence and collective action drive progress

Far from merely presenting an organizational chart, Alain-Claude Kouakoua stressed that these selections were based on rigorous criteria of competence, synergy, and effectiveness. The primary objective is to ensure an exceptionally cohesive management of the Federation’s priorities. The business leader affirmed that the success of this three-year term will hinge on a distinctly collegial governance approach, underpinned by accountability, mutual support, and continuous dialogue.

This newly formed team is expected to commence its work swiftly. Its core mission involves streamlining interactions between the public and private sectors, while simultaneously guiding Gabonese businesses through the essential structural reforms designed to enhance the overall business climate.

Over sixty years of dedicated business advocacy

This leadership transition signifies another important milestone in the institution’s rich history. Established in September 1959 as UNIGABON, later evolving into the Gabonese Employers’ Confederation (CPG), the organization adopted its current identity as FEG in October 2022. Now more than ever, the Federation stands as an indispensable bridge connecting businesses, public authorities, and international partners, driven by an unwavering commitment: to stimulate investment and generate the jobs of tomorrow in Gabon.
