
Air Sénégal bolsters fleet with new boeing 737-800

Air Sénégal has announced the addition of a new Boeing 737-800 to its growing fleet. This strategic acquisition, fully financed by the State of Sénégal, underscores the nation’s commitment to bolstering its air sovereignty and strengthening the operational capabilities of its national carrier.
The General Directorate of Air Sénégal views this latest acquisition as a pivotal moment for fleet modernization and the expansion of the airline’s services. It is expected to significantly enhance Air Sénégal’s operational reach and solidify its market position across both regional and international routes.
Tidiane Ndiaye, the Director General of Air Sénégal, expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support from the State, interpreting this investment as a clear demonstration of public authorities’ confidence in the airline and its promising growth trajectory.
Beyond its regular commercial duties, the newly acquired aircraft will undertake a unique and prestigious mission: transporting the flame for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. This marks a historic occasion as the first Olympic event ever hosted on the African continent.
For this momentous event, the Boeing 737-800 will feature a distinctive livery adorned with the vibrant colors of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Air Sénégal aims to transform this aircraft into a flying ambassador for Sénégal, contributing significantly to the nation’s international prestige through this landmark occasion.
