Will Ligue 1 matches soon be free to watch every week?
An amendment to a bill aiming to overhaul professional sports in France could soon allow one Ligue 1 match per week to be broadcast free on terrestrial television. The proposal is being examined by the National Assembly today.
Currently, to watch any Ligue 1 game, fans must subscribe to the Ligue1+ platform, which costs €15 per month and has around one million subscribers.
Unsurprisingly, the idea has thrilled football supporters, as noted by journalist Grégoire Morelli.
