The United States and Benin have once again affirmed their robust defense partnership. General Christopher J. Mahoney, the Vice Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, recently hosted Major General Fructueux Gbaguidi, Chief of Staff of the Beninese Armed Forces, for crucial discussions at the Pentagon.

Central to their dialogue were various joint security initiatives and the ongoing military aid provided by Washington, primarily channeled through the U.S. Africa Command (Africom).

Both high-ranking officials emphasized the critical importance of a stable, secure, and democratic Benin for fostering peace across the entire region. They committed to enhancing their military collaboration and working closely with other regional allies to effectively counter transnational threats and ensure enduring stability.
