In a strategic move to strengthen its presence in Morocco, Uber has officially launched its ride-hailing services in Tanger and Agadir. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for reliable urban mobility as the country gears up to become a top tourist destination, particularly ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

The decision comes as Morocco sets ambitious goals to attract 26 million visitors annually by 2030, a significant leap from the record 19.8 million tourists welcomed in 2025—a 14% increase from the previous year. Tourism revenue has also surged, reaching 124 billion Moroccan dirhams between January and November of that year. Early 2026 saw 4.3 million tourists visiting the kingdom, marking a 7% rise compared to the same period in 2025.

Uber’s latest initiative aims to enhance the travel experience for tourists and locals alike by offering seamless, secure, and convenient transportation options. Through the Uber app, users in Tanger and Agadir can now book rides in UberX and UberXL, complementing the existing services already available in Casablanca and Rabat.

The company emphasizes its commitment to providing smooth mobility solutions, from airport transfers and hotel stays to exploring the country’s bustling cities and scenic attractions. By expanding to these two key cities, Uber is reinforcing its role in supporting Morocco’s booming tourism sector while meeting the evolving needs of travelers.
