A significant stride forward in the modernization of Togo’s judicial framework has been achieved. During a Council of Ministers meeting held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in Lomé, the government officially endorsed two draft decrees. These decrees confirm the appointment of 28 new magistrates, all graduates from the esteemed Centre for the Training of Justice Professions (CFPJ).
This strategic expansion of personnel within the Togolese justice system includes two cohorts of auditors who have successfully completed their rigorous training programs:
23 justice auditors have been integrated into the civil magistracy.
05 agents from the defense and security forces have been appointed to serve within the military magistracy.
These appointments were formally declared following a positive recommendation from the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), aligning with the prevailing legal statutes. This endorsement marks the definitive integration of these individuals, empowering them to assume their new responsibilities immediately.
