Senegal’s leader, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, has taken a decisive step by establishing a fresh political movement, marking a clear departure from his previous affiliation. The newly formed party, named Kiiraay – Les Patriotes républicains, draws its name from the Wolof term kiiraay, which translates to ‘protection’. President Faye has made it his mission to embed this principle at the heart of his governance and future initiatives.
