A prominent associate of Senegal’s Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, Matar Ndiaga Seck, has been taken into custody by the Criminal Investigations Division (DIC). The arrest follows a warrant issued by the Linguère police station in connection with an ongoing probe into alleged unnatural acts in the Djoloff region.
Investigators confirmed that Seck is now a formal suspect after evidence emerged linking him to the case. The inquiry initially led to the detention of 22 individuals on charges related to acts deemed contrary to natural order. Authorities cited “concordant elements” as justification for his apprehension, underscoring the seriousness with which this matter is being treated.
While details remain under judicial review, the case has drawn public attention due to the high-profile status of the detainee and the sensitive nature of the allegations. Legal proceedings are expected to proceed with discretion as authorities work to establish the full scope of the alleged activities.
