Maurice Kamto warns Cameroon faces choice between future and submission
The national president of the Mouvement pour la renaissance du Cameroun (MRC) calls for resilience in a powerful weekly reflection.
In his weekly message, Maurice Kamto, national president of the Mouvement pour la renaissance du Cameroun (MRC), urges Cameroonians to rise above political adversity with hope and resilience.
For over a year, the opposition leader has been sharing a weekly note containing a fundamental thought. This Monday’s message is no different.
“We are left with only the choice between killing the future and submitting forever, or standing on the only leg we have left, the only arm that still moves, the only open eye that refuses to close because it sees the future where others see only nothingness. I will not lose my bet on the triumph of reason, I will not lose it. Because behind the upheavals, the primary gregarious impulses, behind unreason and hatreds, it is the light of conscience that guides the march of peoples. That is what will save Cameroon. That is what will revive Africa,” Kamto wrote.
According to the MRC national president, the country’s recovery is presented as the engine or symbol of the continent’s renaissance.
