The local branch of Côte d’Ivoire’s Rassemblement des Houphouëtistes pour la Démocratie et la Paix (RHDP) in Mankono concluded its political kickoff on July 18, 2026, following two days of intensive activities focused on election analysis, militant training, and grassroots party revitalization.
Cissé Namory, the departmental secretary of the RHDP whose jurisdiction covers both Mankono town and its surrounding sub-prefecture, emphasized the need for unwavering commitment from militants in strengthening the ruling party’s foundations in the Béré region.
He celebrated the RHDP’s victory in the 2025 legislative elections in Mankono, where Salimata Fofana Méité secured a seat as deputy. However, he voiced concerns over instances of indiscipline among some party members, suggesting that certain party officials may have inadvertently enabled such behavior.
« Upholding transparency with our militants is essential to safeguarding both cohesion and the effectiveness of our political mission, » he stated, urging greater discipline and unity within the RHDP’s ranks.
The two-day event featured a structured agenda, beginning with a reflective seminar on July 17. The theme, « Learning from the recent vote to shape the next militant cycle, » set the stage for in-depth discussions on the party’s future direction.
On the second day, Soro David, the RHDP’s national deputy secretary in charge of political structures, delivered a keynote address on « How the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 will drive progress in the Béré region. »
The speaker highlighted the tangible benefits the Béré region has already reaped from the NDP 2021-2025, including completed projects in education, health, and infrastructure. He then outlined ambitious plans for the 2026-2030 phase, reaffirming that the region’s development trajectory will only accelerate under the new plan.
« The Béré region has already seen significant progress thanks to the NDP 2021-2025, and the upcoming plan will unlock even greater opportunities, » he said. Soro David also praised the dedication of local leaders and residents in supporting President Alassane Ouattara’s vision, calling their involvement a critical driver for both regional growth and national governance.
