Tight security measures at N’Djamena’s Supreme Court
N’Djamena’s Supreme Court is under unprecedented security today, with heavy presence from national defense and security forces. Units including the National Guard, gendarmerie, and police have secured the premises, restricting access to only essential personnel.
Strict access control during the trial
The court’s entrance is heavily monitored, with several journalists and camera crews denied entry to the hearing chamber. Authorities are enforcing strict access protocols to maintain order during the proceedings.
Closed-door hearing in the Supreme Court
The public hearing is taking place in a smaller, restricted chamber within the Supreme Court, far removed from the general public. The session pits the court’s president against a team of nearly ten defense attorneys representing Dr. Succès Masra, leader of the Les Transformateurs party.
The focus of this session is the appeal filed by Masra’s legal team against the August 9, 2025 ruling by the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal. That decision sentenced Dr. Succès Masra to 20 years in prison.
