Granit Xhaka is on the verge of joining Chelsea. The Premier League club has submitted a €30 million offer to sign the midfielder. The 33-year-old has already reached a personal agreement with the Blues.

Chelsea is also in contact with Sunderland. Xabi Alonso is doing everything to recruit Xhaka. Alonso and Xhaka know each other from their time at Bayer Leverkusen, where they played together from 2023 to 2025.
Formed at FC Basel, the midfielder later played for Borussia Mönchengladbach, Arsenal, Leverkusen, and then, since last year, Sunderland, which signed him for €15 million.
With Sunderland, which finished seventh in the Premier League last season, the Swiss international played 36 official matches, scoring one goal and providing six assists.
Xhaka is under contract with Sunderland until mid-2028. His current market value is €8 million.
The left-footed player, who has 149 caps to date, is currently the captain of Switzerland at the World Cup. He has played every minute in the group stage. Switzerland finished top of Group B and will face a third-placed team in the next round.
