On Thursday, August 13, 2026, Gabon’s President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema inaugurated a cutting-edge annex for the Direction générale des Contre-Ingérences et de la Sécurité militaire (DGCISM), widely known as the « B2 ». Nestled in the Bellevue 1 district of Libreville’s third arrondissement, this architectural marvel represents a pivotal leap in enhancing the nation’s intelligence and military security infrastructure.
A cornerstone of a broader government initiative, the new facility spans three levels and covers 900 m², meticulously designed to meet the strictest standards of confidentiality and operational security. Every detail reflects a commitment to operational excellence and strategic foresight.
The layout is engineered for seamless internal coordination. The ground floor hosts the Judicial Investigations Directorate, the first floor is dedicated to the Military Security Directorate, and the second floor serves as the headquarters for the DGCISM leadership.
Modernisation applauded by leadership
Addressing a gathering of civil and military dignitaries, Colonel Joseph Ondo Be, Director-General of the DGCISM, conveyed deep appreciation from the agency’s personnel to the Head of State. Describing the new annex as a « strategic asset », he highlighted it as a transformative step forward in improving operational conditions for intelligence professionals.
He also pledged to maintain stringent oversight of the facility while expressing hope that the momentum of modernization would soon extend to upgrading the main headquarters, revitalizing regional branches, and renewing the agency’s vehicle fleet.
