From the bustling Dakar waterfront to the historic Gorée Island, and stretching along the airport highway into rural villages, solar-powered streetlights now illuminate the landscape of Senegal. This thriving sector is primarily led by two French enterprises: Ragni, a family-run business from the Alpes-Maritimes region, and Fonroche, a small-to-medium-sized company headquartered in Agen. Together, they represent just a fraction of the 340 French firms operating across the nation. While industry giants like Orange, TotalEnergies, Auchan, and Eiffage have long-established themselves in West Africa, these lesser-known yet dynamic businesses see immense potential in Senegal’s evolving market.
