Abidjan, 30 June 2026 – Mining company Endeavour Mining has announced it injected 1,710 billion FCFA into Côte d’Ivoire’s economy between 2021 and 2025, with 644 billion FCFA paid to the state through taxes, royalties and dividends. The figures come from the firm’s first country impact report focused on Côte d’Ivoire, titled “Creating Tangible Value.”

The report, presented on 29 June 2026 at Endeavour Mining’s headquarters in Cocody, details achievements at the Ity and Lafigué mines in economic contribution, community development and environmental protection.

Endeavour’s vice-president of public affairs and country director for Côte d’Ivoire, Laetitia Gadegbeku-Ouattara, stated that the Ity and Lafigué operations have turned gold into “a true catalyst for sustainable development” over the past five years. She reaffirmed the group’s commitment to a partnership built on trust, transparency and shared progress.

Of the 644 billion FCFA paid to the state, 398 billion came from taxes, 149 billion from royalties and 97 billion from dividends. The company also spent 904 billion FCFA on purchases from local suppliers.

Endeavour employs over 1,350 people, 94% of whom are Ivorian nationals. It works with 4,390 contractors and more than 600 local suppliers, making it one of the country’s top contributors to public revenue and the largest gold producer in Côte d’Ivoire.

In health, Gadegbeku-Ouattara noted that more than 120,000 people benefited from prevention, screening and care initiatives run by the company and its foundation. Health caravans provided free consultations and treatment to nearly 4,000 people, while 64 patients received free cataract surgeries.

Dr Youssouf Koné, the departmental health director of Zouan-Hounien, said the partnership with Endeavour is important in the fight against malaria for communities living near the Ity mine.

In education, over 4,000 children and young people took part in the company’s educational programmes between 2021 and 2025, and 842 students completed internships. Key human-capital initiatives include “Élites de Demain”, “Jeunes Filles en Scolarité” and “Pépites d’Or”.

The report also reveals an investment of more than 2.8 billion FCFA in community infrastructure. This funded 71 projects for drinking water and safety, rehabilitation of 16 roads benefiting over 360,000 people, implementation of 10 rural electrification projects, and issuance of 1,000 driving licences to support youth employment.

On the economic front, more than 3,000 people benefited from 284 income-generating initiatives funded with 487 million FCFA, with a special focus on women and youth. The “N’Goto Yetehe” programme trained 63 young people in eight trades at Lafigué.

In environmental work, Endeavour reports planting over 158,000 trees and protecting or restoring 199 hectares of land between 2021 and 2025. Key actions include the “One Child, One Tree” programme run with schools and the restoration of 125 hectares of classified forests in partnership with SODEFOR. The company also notes that its “Towards Zero Plastic” strategy eliminated more than 1.3 million single-use plastic bottles, a 99% reduction in three years.

The Côte d’Ivoire 2021-2025 Impact Report is being presented to host communities of the Ity and Lafigué mines in the presence of administrative authorities, local councils, customary leaders, and representatives of youth, women and mining project steering committees.
