The Senate of the Democratic Republic of Congo has officially launched the second reading of the bill governing the organization of a referendum in the country. In the lower house, the bill was initiated by National Deputy Paul-Gaspard Ngondankoy, representing Yahuma territory in Tshopo province. The National Assembly had previously adopted this legislation on May 9 with overwhelming support, with 348 out of 351 participating deputies voting in favor, two against, and one abstention.
