ALGIERS – A significant stride in African energy development was marked this Thursday in Algiers as an agreement was formally signed for the construction of a 40-megawatt electricity production plant in N’Djamena, Chad. The accord was penned by Mourad Adjal, Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, and Passalé Kanabé Marcelin, Chad’s Minister of Water and Energy. This pivotal collaboration underscores a commitment to fortify ties between the two nations, aligning with the strategic vision of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to bolster support for African countries and champion robust South-South cooperation initiatives.
