PCRN gains influence in Cameroon’s judicial governance

The Superior Council of the Judiciary now includes Rolande Ngo Issi, a PCRN Deputy representing the Nyong and Kellé constituency, following her appointment via presidential decree on June 2, 2026. This move marks a significant step in the PCRN’s integration into national governance alongside the RDPC.

Other appointees include former Public Service Minister Sali Dahirou, Deputy Soppo Toute Marlyse from Wouri (RDPC), former Vice President of the Special Criminal Court (TCS) Claude Francis Moukouri, along with Albert Ekono Nna, Engelbert Bengono, Mekoulou Cunégonde Christine (née Ngotty), and Roger Sockeng among others.

About Rolande Ngo Issi: a career of public service and advocacy

Born on January 9, 1981, in Yaoundé, Rolande Ngo Issi combines multiple roles: National Deputy, alternate member of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (appointed by President Paul Biya), Deputy Secretary-General of the Network of Women Parliamentarians of Cameroon, member of the PCRN’s national steering committee, and Secretary-General of the PCRN’s Central region delegation.

Since April 2016, she has served as National President of the National Consumer Movement (MNC). Her academic credentials include a master’s degree in Child Psychology from the University of Yaoundé 1 – Nkoa Ekele, a degree in Political Science from the University of Yaoundé 2 – Soa, and a diploma from the ENS (École Normale Supérieure).

In 2016, she was elected President of the Cameroon Consumer Movement. With thousands of followers on her social media platforms, she actively champions Cameroonian youth empowerment and entrepreneurship.

Key parliamentary interventions and public statements

During a recent budget orientation debate, Rolande Ngo Issi raised critical questions about import substitution. “Import substitution has caught my attention since last year’s session. Let’s be clear: what can the State truly achieve six months from now? Without reliable electricity, stable internet connectivity, efficient communication networks—especially in the digital age—without a fair and less burdensome tax system, and without a just judicial system?” she questioned.

She also questioned the Minister of Finance regarding delayed police promotions: “It’s no secret that since 2017, no salary advancement has been processed for the police force, while the army receives automatic promotions,” she pointed out.

A life beyond politics: education and entrepreneurship

Prior to her political career, Rolande Ngo Issi was a personal development coach and an educator for 11 years in rural areas.
