A landmark digitalization pact has been signed by Chad’s National Bureau of Land Freight (BNFT), Cameroon’s freight authority, and Central African Republic’s transport officials, targeting modernization of Central Africa’s trade corridors by 2030.

This groundbreaking agreement is designed to streamline cargo transport and transit operations, fostering smoother commercial exchanges across the subregion. The pact introduces a unified digital framework to replace outdated manual processes, enhancing efficiency, security, and transparency in goods movement.

Saleh Youssouf Erda, Director-General of the BNFT, emphasized the pact’s significance in today’s digital-first economy. “This agreement marks a pivotal step toward modern logistics infrastructure. By embracing digital solutions, we’re not just accelerating trade flows—we’re securing cargo and eliminating bottlenecks that have long plagued our corridors.”

The Central African Republic’s Transport Ministry representative highlighted the pact’s role in administrative reform. “Digitalizing transit procedures will slash waiting times and bolster cargo security. This is a game-changer for reliability in regional trade.”

The pact aligns with broader efforts to upgrade Central Africa’s transport corridors, aiming to deepen economic ties and unlock the region’s trade potential.
