The summer transfer window has been open for several weeks now, and Olympique de Marseille is making plenty of noise. The club from the south of France finds itself under UEFA scrutiny and must sell players to avoid the risk of being barred from all European competitions. While Mason Greenwood’s future dominates discussions, another key figure could also be packing his bags.

After a disastrous season, no one at Marseille is safe. The failure to qualify for the Champions League already forced OM to tighten its belt, but the need has become a true emergency following UEFA’s recent warning. New sporting director Grégory Lorenzi is working on all fronts to manage this crucial summer for the club.
Greenwood could leave OM
The first major case is already well known, as everyone is talking about Mason Greenwood. Marseille’s top scorer over the past two seasons, the 24-year-old winger appears to be on his way out, with Fenerbahçe and especially AS Roma interested in securing his services. Italian media report advanced talks with the Roman club, but a recent development has cooled things down. OM reportedly did not appreciate how Roma’s management handled the situation, allegedly contacting the player without first informing his club.
Højbjerg also set to leave?
While that saga seems to be stalling, another deal may be progressing. According to information from Bergamo-based sources, Atalanta wants to convince Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to leave Marseille. The Danish international is even the top priority for new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who previously tried to sign him for Juventus and now wants another shot. And the door is not closed—quite the opposite. The Bergamo daily reports that OM has agreed to let the midfielder go, setting a minimum price of €10 million.
