Mali targets Sahel terror kingpins with million-cfa bounties

The Malian Government has escalated its fight against terrorism by placing bounties on seven notorious terrorist leaders operating across the Sahel region. Each head carries a specific price tag, ranging from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs, reflecting the gravity of their alleged crimes.
« Authorities are offering substantial financial rewards to anyone providing credible intelligence that leads to the arrest or elimination of these individuals, » stated a spokesperson from the Ministry of Security in an official statement. The announcement underscores the government’s commitment to dismantling terror networks threatening national stability.
Among those targeted are Iyad Ag Ghali, founder of Ansar Dine, with a 2 billion FCFA bounty, followed by Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré, also known as Amadou Kouffa, and Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo, alias Doulé Bib de Nampala, each commanding a 1.5 billion FCFA reward. Alghabass Ag Intallah, another high-profile figure, faces a 1 billion FCFA bounty for his suspected involvement in orchestrating attacks across Mali.
Security agencies emphasize that these individuals are accused of masterminding and executing deadly assaults that have claimed lives and destabilized communities. The government has urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to defense and security forces, stressing that collective action is critical to eradicating terrorism.
