Discover Sawti, the multilingual platform making Moroccan politics clearer
Morocco now has a powerful new tool to navigate its complex political landscape. The digital platform Sawti, accessible at www.sawti.info, is transforming how citizens—both within the country and abroad—access, understand, and engage with political information.
Launched by two young Moroccan entrepreneurs, Ismaïl Lahlou and Yassine Lahlou Kamal, Sawti operates as a non-profit initiative. Its mission is to provide reliable, easy-to-understand political content, empowering citizens to participate more meaningfully in the nation’s democratic processes.
Designed for accessibility, Sawti breaks language barriers by offering content in nine languages, including Moroccan Darija, Modern Standard Arabic, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and German. Tamazight (Berber) is set to join the lineup soon. The platform’s intuitive interface ensures seamless navigation, allowing users to quickly find the information they need.
In a political environment often perceived as opaque, Sawti simplifies the learning curve with educational resources. These explain how national institutions function, clarify electoral processes, and shed light on key political dynamics shaping Morocco today.
One of the platform’s standout features is its streamlined service for electoral participation. With the voter registration deadline approaching on June 13, Sawti enables users to verify their registration status or complete the process online in minutes. This ensures no one misses the opportunity to participate in upcoming elections.
The platform also caters to Moroccan citizens living abroad. It provides clear guidance on how to vote from overseas, addressing common questions and reducing administrative hurdles. Looking ahead, Sawti plans to introduce an interactive quiz. This tool will help users assess their political alignment based on their values and views on major societal issues.
By making political information accessible around the clock, Sawti is playing a key role in modernizing civic engagement in Morocco. The platform is accessible online at www.sawti.info, offering a new standard for transparency and citizen involvement in the country’s political life.
