Enhancing bilateral relations: Benin’s President Romuald Wadagni in Ouagadougou

President Romuald Wadagni of the Republic of Bénin arrived in Ouagadougou on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, for a friendship and working visit to Burkina Faso. The high-level delegation was greeted at the Ouagadougou International Airport by the President of the Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Upon his arrival, the two heads of state observed the playing of both national anthems before reviewing a military honor guard. The ceremonial welcome set the tone for the productive discussions ahead.

Following the welcoming ceremony, Presidents Wadagni and Traoré held a private meeting in the airport’s VIP lounge, laying the groundwork for deeper collaboration between the two nations.
