During a press conference, the general supervisor of the Diomaye Président coalition addressed the dismissal of former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
According to Aminata Touré, Sonko’s tenure at the head of government ended in failure, leading to his removal. She said, in a mix of Wolof and French: “We appointed you Prime Minister, you had files you couldn’t manage, so we kicked you out.”
Touré also stressed that true courage lies in solving the problems of Senegalese people by using one’s skills, strategies, and network — not by wielding all the powers of office for two years without delivering solutions to the difficulties faced by the population.
