Empowering 75 pedagogical inspectors: a milestone for digital learning in Côte d’Ivoire
As part of the second stage of the Digital Skills Development for Supervisory and Teaching Staff (DCNPEE) initiative, 75 pedagogical inspectors from 25 regional directorates across Côte d’Ivoire gathered in Yamoussoukro. From May 4 to 6, 2026, these professionals participated in a high-level workshop designed to strengthen their technological capabilities within the school system.
This training session was co-organized by UNESCO and the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Education (MENAET), specifically through the Directorate of Technologies and Information Systems (DTSI). The primary goal was to provide educational leaders with the necessary tools to navigate the modern digital landscape. This phase builds upon the success of the first stage, which trained 43 inspectors, ensuring that the project eventually reaches every corner of the nation. Furthermore, this initiative supports the implementation of the National Strategy for the Digitalization of Education (SNDECI 2024-2028).
Over the course of three intensive days, inspectors specializing in Mathematics, Life and Earth Sciences (SVT), and Physics-Chemistry focused on mastering digital platforms. The curriculum included sessions on developing digital educational content, creating engaging interactive presentations, and integrating artificial intelligence into daily pedagogical supervision. By adopting these technologies, the ministry aims to make classroom learning more dynamic and effective for students across Côte d’Ivoire.
Participants expressed strong appreciation for the training modules, noting their relevance to the current challenges facing the Ivorian education system. UNESCO and the DTSI emphasized that these inspectors are now strategic ambassadors, tasked with mentoring teachers in their respective districts to ensure the digital transition is successful at the local level.
This progress represents a vital step in the DCNPEE 2 project, which receives financial backing from the GIZ. The next major objective will involve training IT managers to further solidify the foundation of a modern, inclusive, and high-performing school system in Côte d’Ivoire.
