Sonara, the state-owned oil company in Cameroon, has abandoned its plans to launch a new television channel called ‘Parras 24’. Instead, it is opting for a public partnership to create the channel.
The decision comes as part of Sonara’s efforts to diversify its media presence and reach a wider audience.
‘We have decided to abandon our plans to launch ‘Parras 24′ and instead, we will be partnering with the public to create this new channel,’ said a spokesperson for Sonara.
The company had initially planned to launch ‘Parras 24’ as part of its expansion into the media sector. However, due to various reasons, it has decided to change its strategy and instead opt for a public partnership.
This decision is expected to benefit both Sonara and the public,’ said the spokesperson. ‘We believe that this new approach will enable us to reach a wider audience and provide more diverse content to our viewers.’
