During a high-level meeting in Rabat on Thursday, Côte d’Ivoire’s Foreign Minister, Kacou Adom, reaffirmed his country’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Royal initiatives aimed at advancing Africa’s development.

«Côte d’Ivoire fully endorses these initiatives and stands firmly with Morocco to ensure their successful implementation in line with His Majesty’s vision,» he stated following discussions with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita.

Minister Kacou Adom also highlighted the dynamic nature of Moroccan-Ivorian cooperation, emphasizing the active role of the Moroccan private sector in bolstering Côte d’Ivoire’s economic growth. «The Moroccan business community is making significant strides alongside Côte d’Ivoire to drive economic progress and nation-building,» he noted.

Both diplomats agreed to reconvene soon to assess the progress of the Economic Impulse Group, aiming to enhance its dynamism and achieve even greater milestones in bilateral collaboration.

Nasser Bourita reciprocated Côte d’Ivoire’s support, expressing Morocco’s deep appreciation for Abidjan’s consistent stance on the Sahara issue. «Côte d’Ivoire has long been a steadfast ally in this matter of vital importance to the Kingdom,» he remarked, adding that the country’s position has earned profound respect from His Majesty the King, the Moroccan people, and its institutions.

«The Republic of Côte d’Ivoire is not only a strong bilateral partner but a benchmark for Morocco in Africa,» Bourita emphasized, underscoring Abidjan’s pivotal role in continental initiatives. He specifically pointed to Côte d’Ivoire’s involvement in the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline project, which His Majesty the King has prioritized.

The project, Bourita revealed, is advancing toward realization, with leaders in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) having already endorsed the intergovernmental agreement that establishes the pipeline. «This infrastructure will mark a transformative step forward for regional energy connectivity,» he added.

The Rabat-Abidjan meeting underscored the depth of a partnership built on mutual political, economic, and regional cooperation. With Côte d’Ivoire’s steadfast backing of Morocco’s Sahara sovereignty, robust bilateral trade ties, and alignment with key Royal African projects, the two nations are poised to deepen their alliance further.
