President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno of Chad dispatched a distinguished delegation to Yaoundé on Friday, July 17, 2026. The high-ranking envoys carried a personal message from the Chadian head of state for his Cameroonian counterpart, President Paul Biya.
The delegation was led by Dr. Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul, who serves as Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Chadians Abroad. Accompanying him were several key officials, including Mahamat Saleh Abdeldjelil, Special Advisor to the Head of State; Fatima Haram Acyl, Minister of Petroleum, Mines, and Geology; and Hassan Adoum Younousmi, Director General of the Telecommunications Sector Regulatory Agency (ARSAT).

As President Biya was abroad at the time of the visit, the Chadian delegation was welcomed at the Etoudi Palace by Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Minister of State and Secretary General of the Presidency of Cameroon.
While the specific contents of the message were not publicly disclosed, the head of the Chadian delegation emphasized that it underscored the exceptional relationship shared by both Presidents and the strong bonds between the Chadian and Cameroonian peoples. He stated that this diplomatic overture reflects the commitment of the highest authorities in both nations to further strengthen their cooperation and maintain continuous dialogue on matters of mutual interest.

Beyond the delivery of the presidential message, discussions also focused on future cooperation prospects across several strategic sectors vital to both the Chadian and Cameroonian economies. Key areas of conversation included strengthening partnerships in economic development, energy resources, and infrastructure projects, all within a shared vision to deepen sub-regional integration.
This diplomatic mission underscores the enduring and privileged relationship that N’Djamena and Yaoundé have cultivated over decades. It further demonstrates the commitment of both states to maintaining a consistent framework for consultation and to solidifying the historical, political, and economic ties that bind these two neighboring nations.
