The Senate of Cameroon is set for the commencement of its ordinary session for June 2026, scheduled to open tomorrow, June 9.
In a display of administrative diligence, the Secretary-General of the Senate, Mr. Gustave Léopold Ngane, led a comprehensive review of the Senate’s facilities at the Economic and Social Council this morning, June 8, 2026. He was joined by the Deputy Secretary-General and other senior officials.
This final assessment was conducted to confirm the readiness of all essential infrastructure for the smooth execution of parliamentary duties. The delegation meticulously surveyed the conference halls, the VIP reception lounge, banquet rooms, and the main chamber where senators will convene throughout the session.
Following the walk-through, the Secretary-General expressed his complete confidence in the operational readiness of all facilities. He confirmed that all logistical and technical arrangements have been finalized ahead of the session’s inauguration.
In line with parliamentary tradition, the June ordinary session will focus primarily on deliberations concerning budgetary orientation. Key agenda items also include strategic discussions between the Upper House and the Supreme Court’s Court of Accounts, alongside the thorough review and adoption of proposed legislation.
